CEMS LSE
London School of Economics and Political Science, Houghton Street, WC2A 2AE London, United Kingdom
Description:
The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is unique in the United Kingdom in its concentration on teaching and research across the full range of the social, political and economic sciences. Founded in 1895 by Beatrice and Sidney Webb, the LSE is one of the largest colleges within the University of London and has an outstanding reputation for academic excellence nationally and internationally. But this is an unusual UK university. Few university institutions in the world are as international. The study of social, economic and political problems covers not only the United Kingdom and other countries within the European Union, but also countries of every continent.

Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? The halls of residence in the UK are a social place, where you get to meet people from all parts of the world.
Personal comments:
I was an undergraduate at LSE, and my degree was completely independent of my cureent studies. The accommodation of foreign students as well as UK students, however was excellent. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Type of housing: Off campus University housing
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: University Housing
Why? Certain University housing has perfect location.
Personal comments:
Overall they were very good. Just be aware that some of the offerings have the same cost but do not have the same benefits. Priarily, there is usually a trade off between location and quality of the accomodation. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? For the independence.
Personal comments:
Honestly I don't have a good remembering; It was the cheapest student accomondation of the LSE, but also the dirtiest and the most uncomfortable one. Not recommendable for a foreign student who doesn't go back to their home during the whole term. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Type of housing: With a family
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Living with a host you don't know does limit you privacy quite a bit.
Personal comments:
It's very hard to find something reasonable in London. I can understand the LSE that they can't provide housing for every exchange student, but still it's a big problem This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Type of housing: University housing NOT ON CAMPUS
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: same
Why? While I wasn't very satisfied, there are few better alternatives in London. The facilities might have been improved if I went private, but it would have been more expensive and isolating.

There are several halls of residence belonging to LSE, but all places are reserved for those students who spend the whole academic year there. So there's no chance to get a place in one of these very convenient residences. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

LSE doesn't offer any accommodation. There is an accommodation office helping students finding a solution though. It is located in the university and operates every day. It is connected to the London Accommodation network realized by the University of London. Refer to LSE site to learn more! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
