Description:
The University of Lapland at Rovaniemi, on the Arctic Circle, is the most northern university in Finland and the European Union. It is a diversified centre for education and research, where science and arts come together in a unique fashion. The four faculties of education, law, social sciences and art and design - both combined and as separate units - all form an aggregate that will creatively meet the challenges of the coming millennium with courage and new courses of action.

Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? the best way!
Personal comments:
good facilities: microwave, toaster, owen, sauna, vacuum cleaner etc etc, no living room, I think they would use it more, so the wouldn't be so shy! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
by Natalia, St.Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance, St. Petersburg, Russia

Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
Tivoli and Doris are the best places to go out. Both free and have 1 euro beer on wednesday. Both free till 11 or 12 on Saturday. Doris is generally more expansive, but the crowd could be better for some. Check both out. Participate in sports that are offered by University. There are really a lot to choose from. Travelling can be costly, since the town is up the North, but do go to Sweden. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
No, I had enough information before I left. It was nice to have a new exciting discovery every week! In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
The university supports and follows the student in a very good and personal way. The professors know each student and help each student to find their own direction in an indendant way. FINAL COMMENTS
It's best to buy some warm clothes before you leave! Travelling around Finland is great in summertime (after university is over) with the train (half price with Finnish student card). Basic knowledge of English is useful, there were some international students that didn't speak a word of English and they had a hard time at the start. Great experience. I would leave right away if I could! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
