Personal assessment

KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.

Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? The advantage of living on Campus is that the lectures were very close to the dormitory where we were staying, and on top of that, Lehighīs Campus is just at the city center of Bethlehem, therefore everything we needed was nearby.
Personal comments:
At Lehigh University there are plenty of dormitories for students,as I wrote before for me are the best option. Most of them have all kind of facilities and the location is very good.

Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities, Nightlife: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment
Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
If you like little cosy italian restaurants donīt miss Pastificio. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly and the clientele a mixture of students, young professionals and friends of the italian couple. The menu offers and incredible wide selection of dishes ranging from Pizza to Ravioli. The quality of food is superb and the price very reasonable. If you want a quality night out Tally-ho is the best place and on thursday nights there is a karoeke party at this pub.

My academic experiences
Quality of courses
KEY:
Fantastic.
Pretty good.
Could've been a bit better.
Disappointing.
Variety of courses
Availability/access to resources
Interaction with teachers
Interaction with other international students
Interaction with local students
Course recommendations:
I really liked the way the program was run, specially because we had a wide selection of courses ranging from human resources to accountancy, it did not matter your area of interest because there were always interesting courses to be taken. I also liked that the lectures were more practical that theoretical and the facilitators talked about their own experiences. The only problem I found was that sometimes the lectures were too basic, there should have been different levels, because for people like me that I already had financial background some of the lectures were boring.

My opinion of the university assessment
Exams at end of course
KEY:
Liked it.
It was alright.
A bit annoying.
Didn't like it.
Exams throughout the course
Essays and/or projects at the end of course.
Essays and/or projects throughout the course
Overall
Personal comments:
As I already wrote i would establish different levels for the lectures, specially in the kind of program i took part, because there were people with financial background and others that didnīt.

Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.
How much did you improve your English?
My level before: No problems in any areas (including slang)
My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)
Personal comments:
I have always enjoyed travelling and meeting people from different cultures and different backgrounds. When I was 14 years old I went to Ireland for a month to study English. This was a very interesting experience because it taught me at a young age how important it is to speak foreign languages and learn new ways of doing things. Since then, I have not stopped travelling and practising my english. I spent all four summers of high school in the USA, living with a family in Laconia (New Hampshire). I worked there as a gardener which allowed me to make a bit of money to cover for my expenses during the year. The third summer at university I took a summer course in Poland. Last year I studied at the University of Liverpool. I finished my business studies at this prestigious university. Therefore my English level when I arrived at Lehigh University was very good.

The accessibility of student needs
Second-hand text books
KEY:
Very easy.
Minimal effort.
Accessible but required effort.
Almost impossible.
Second-hand household items
Computers / Internet
Administrative
Money from home
Main source of funding:
Government assistance
Other sources of funding:
Family
Work opportunities:
It was not legal for me to work
Personal spending habits:
I travelled a lot more than usual because I donīt often have the chance to spend time in the USA.On top of that, two of the places I visited were New York and Washington which are very expensive cities. I spent more money in telephone because international calls are expensive and my family were on holidays and did not have internet access. I spent less money than in Spain in housing because the dormitories in Madrid are very expensive.
Travel, Telephone: was more expensive than at home.
Food, Nightlife, Overall: was the same price as at home.
Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
I was very surprised that the cost of living at the USA is not a lot higher than in Spain, actually some consumer goods such as Clothing or food are cheaper at the USA.

Personal recommendation:
The university is great, it has all kind of services and the social and campus life are amazing. _The only problem I see is that for people who need to live in big cities probably find Bethlehem a very small city.
