Description:
Lund University, with its 7 faculties and a number of research centres and specialized institutes, is the largest unit for research and higher education in Sweden. Lund University was founded in 1666, partly in order to tie more closely to Sweden the provinces which had been ceded by Denmark in 1658. HOUSING
by Siegfried, Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien, Vienna, Austria
Economics, Erasmus
Personal assessment
Type of housing: student residence
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: student residence
Why? because it is a good possibility to get to know to other students, especially other exchange students.
Personal comments:
could have been cheaper but it was therefore quite luxury and close to the center of town and to the train station This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE

Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Personal comments:
The nations in Lund are open for every student and are the only clubs were you can drink for a normal price (Sweden has high taxes on alcohol, so the cafes are very expensive). A lot of activities are organised by and for students, and there are too many to give examples!! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

ACADEMIC

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Well, it deserves recommedation to keep nagging the heads of departments when they at first feel that you do not meet the requirements for the courses; in the end they are very likely to give in, which will give you a great opportunity to do some really interesting AND challenging courses (although in general you will not have too much work on your hands... enough time to enjoy the exchange experience!)
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Percentages for grades; facilitates the calculation of any other type of grade than the good/very good Swedish system. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Yes, I wanted to improve my Swedish How much did you improve your English?
My level before: At ease in most situations My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) How much did you improve your Swedish?
My level before: At ease in most situations My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
I am half swedish, so I mainly went to Sweden to improve my writting skills. I personally felt that my level after leaving the country was much higher. The language of instruction presents not too many difficulties for me. However, I learned new words, especially in the technical area. Personal savings Scholarship offered by home university Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
1. Telephone (It is cheap to make phone calls in Hong Kong and I have to make overseas phone calls during my exchange study.) 2. Housing (I live at home.) 3. Nightlife (I seldom spend money on that at home.) 4. Travel (I seldom go travel at home.) Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Food: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
Very expensive housing cost. No cost-saving tips unless you find your own room, but it is difficult if you don't know Swedish. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
