Personal assessment
Cost
KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.
Facilities
Location
Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: A room exchange
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? dorm is not a real free area. It includes a lot of rules to respect particulary for underaged people. It is hard for a european people of 25 years old who use to live in a appartement to accept this rules
Personal comments:
I was in the international hall whose rules- without explanations- was very strict. Dorms doesn't responsabilised people. One positive point in united states is the easiness to have a job when you are a student.

Nightlife
Travel
Overall
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities, Nightlife: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment
Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment
Personal comments:
In Oxford, most of parties are organised in someone's house. I will recomanded an appartment upstair the coffe buzz where it is a very artistic atmosphere. For dancing, the Stadium is not too bad

No, it wasn't.
Personal comments:
due to special courses in business english at my home university i knew that i would not have really big problems according to the classe i took at the university of miami. what i really surprised of was the speed of getting familiar with colloqial small talk english, which i improved mainly at parties.

Business Studies, University Agreement
The accessibility of student needs
Second-hand text books
KEY:
Very easy.
Minimal effort.
Accessible but required effort.
Almost impossible.
Second-hand household items
Computers / Internet
Administrative
Money from home
Main source of funding:
Family
Other sources of funding:
Personal savings
Work opportunities:
It was not legal for me to work
Personal spending habits:
I spent more in these categories b/c at home I go to the grocery store as opposed to always eating out. I also had to telephone abroad often, which I don't do here. Finally, I travelled every weekend when I was in Europe and here I rarely travel.
Food, Travel, Overall, Telephone: was more expensive than at home.
Nightlife, Housing: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
Use credit/ debit cards not traveler's checks.

Important to choosing this university...
Academic reasons
KEY:
Very Important.
Important.
Not really important.
Unimportant.
Culture
Costs
Activities
Campus life
Party / people
Weather / Location
I wish I had known...
I would have know before that it was completely unconvenient to leave the campus and go to the airport or cincinnati
In my opinion:
Most people loved it.

During my experience abroad, I ...
Became familiar with another culture
KEY:
Happened all the time.
Happened quite a lot.
Happened a bit.
Didn't happen.
Traveled
Improved language skills
Met people from other countries
Became more independent
Partied a lot
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies/career
Personal recommendation:
It is a very isolated university, no buses to go to the airport or Cincinnati for example, and the taxi is about 75 dollards for the lap! You can find american friendsto bring you up but it is always frustrated to be not independant.

FINAL COMMENTS

It was a very rich experience in term of meeting, progress, travel but sometimes life on campus can be quiet borrying.
