Get an around-the-world ticket if you can... it not that much more than a rt to Perth costs- and you can visit awesome places... I went to England, France, New Zealand, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and Hawaii- and it didn't really cost that much more than just going to Perth would have. Read Review

Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? It was nice to live on campus, but if I return, I think I'd also like to try living in the city or Fremantle to see what that's like.
Personal comments:
Student village was excellent!

Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.

Considering that English is my native language, it was fine... but if English isn't your native language, there are excellent resources available to help with academics and overall communication.

Other sources of funding:

Personal spending habits:
Australia, especially Perth is cheaper than the US in general... but travel (both to and from and around while you're there) is the kicker... watch out- taxis can burn all your money pretty quickly- some students got cars while they were there, and it ended up being worthwhile.
Travel: was more expensive than at home.
Food, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Yeah- Perth ended up being a lot cheaper than anticipated. Just remember to NEVER use a US phonecard- they are pirates!! Go to a convenience store or somewhere they sell pre-paid phonecards and get either the APPLE phonecard or Unidial Supersaver to call the US (and, in most cases, Europe). They're between 2 and 4 cents (US)a minute- Cheaper than my calling plan w/in the US!!
