National University of Ireland Galway (Ollscoil na h…ireann, Gaillimh) was founded as one of the three original colleges of the Queen's University, established under the provisions of the Act 8 and 9 Victoria in 1845. The College opened for students in October 1849. Since the 1960s the University has experienced significant and continuous growth, both in its stock of buildings, facilities and physical resources and also in the numbers of its students and staff. Because the cost of life in Ireland was a huge different from Spain, everything was more expensive in general.
