HOUSING

Personal assessment
Cost
KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.
Facilities
Location
Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: Quad apartment (4 students) shared kitch and bath
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: I would not change where I lived
Why? Living in Quad apartments allows you to meet and live with 3 people you have never met. It is very exciting and intersting. You also get to meet alot of other students living around you.
Personal comments:
The quad apartment complex I lived in was very close to the university so that was a plus. The good thing about quads is that they are normally only occupied by fellow students. This way you get to meet alot of the people you will be going to school with.

STUDENT LIFE
by Camilla, The Aarhus School of Business, Arhus, Denmark
Business Studies, University Agreement
Personal social experience
Activities
KEY:
Amazing! Hardly had time to study.
Plenty to do when I had the time.
So-so.
Did not get involved.
Nightlife
Travel
Overall
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities, Nightlife: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment
Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
The best student bar in town would have to be Clauds. This is where students go to hand out after class and also late into the night hours. If you want to dance Tailgators is the place to go.

My academic experiences
Quality of courses
KEY:
Fantastic.
Pretty good.
Could've been a bit better.
Disappointing.
Variety of courses
Availability/access to resources
Interaction with teachers
Interaction with other international students
Interaction with local students
Course recommendations:
Make sure to interact with the professors. They are very interested in your point of view and often make use of the fact that you are an international student. This makes the courses more interesting for everybody.

Overall
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my English
How much did you improve your English?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.)
My level after: At ease in most situations
Personal comments:
People are very friendly, helpful and talkative over there. So you get in contact with people easily and you can take advantage to talk a lot and ask all the things you haven't known yet. In this way I've improved my language skills to a great extend. Also, all the papers we had to write for classes helped me to enrich my vocabularly!

Computers / Internet
Administrative
Money from home
Main source of funding:
Personal savings
Other sources of funding:
support of study program "Joint"
Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options
Personal spending habits:
As the euro was pretty strong when I was in the United States, life in general was pretty cheap. I spent less on phoning because I used skype - a good and cheap way to stay in contact with all your dears!
Food, Travel, Overall, Housing: was the same price as at home.
Nightlife, Telephone: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
When you want to withdraw cash from your account - use your debit card! They don't charge that much!

FINAL COMMENTS

Honestly, Corvallis is not a vivid city, so there is not much to do. However, I tried to learn about my host country as much as possible and to make my stay abroad as special as possible. And I succeeded. So, you can do it as well! My travel tips: in Oregon: Silver Falls and of course the coast!!! in Washington: Seattle in British Columbia: Vancouver Hawaii! - If you can do it, do it!!
