Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? The university is so big that it is advantageous to live there. My choice to live on campus would depend upon which facility I am assigned. Some facilities on campus are less than desirable.
Personal comments:
The accommadations are nice in general. The have help to clean the facility. Laundry, food, computer and recreation services are available in each facility. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Talk with the teacher first, some teachers don't really use that much English in their classes:-S
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Most of the time the lecturers are able to speak English, but the level of English of the students is not that good, and that is why especially discussion are most of the time in Turkish, but this also depends on department. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

OVERALL

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
Anything, information from the International Office was very limited. In my opinion:
I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
I had an amazing time, I met people from all over the world, and got to know a very welcoming new culture, negative sides were the level of bureaucrazy and the minimum amount of English of the local population.. FINAL COMMENTS
Study some Turkish before you go, it will be very helpfull in food-ordering and similar situation, after leaving campus you can be sure not many people will be able to understand you when you try to communicate in English. Good Turkish classes are offered in the centre at Active Languages, they can also provide you housing within a family or with other students. If you want to live in campus, you should be aware that strict rules apply (no alcohol, no guests staying over etcetera...), living in a house has both advantages and disadvantages. In Turkey you have the chance to travel a lot, busses are very cheap, and the country is amazingly beautiful, the advanterous people among us, could consider trips to Iran, Syria and the like...
