HOUSING
by Julia, James Madison University, Harrisonburg, United States
Political Science, IUSP
Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I don't like living in a dorm
Personal comments:
It was a single room, pretty big for on campus housing I thought, generally really nice, I didn't like the people on my floor but that was just me and not the university's fault. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: German
Was learning German a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my German How much did you improve your German?
My level before: At ease in most situations My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
The Germans wants to speak in german with you and if you are fluent they will like it very much. For non speakers, most of Germans can speak English. But you have to learn German to adapt the local environment. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
I would have known that there was not going to be internet connection in my room. It was difficult to live without internet. In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
Enjoy Marburg!! It is a very small city, so that you always see somebody you know on the street :) The University has 20000 students and there is always something to do.. The food is really cheap in Marburg so do not forget to eat Doner in Bereket und Auflauf in Paprika! They are delicious. FINAL COMMENTS
It takes 50 minutes to travel to Frankfurt and with your university ticket you can travel free in Hessen. Visit Heidelberg!! This is a beatiful university city. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
