If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? It is the better way if you decide to share with other students. You are more independent because you have your things and you can invite people over.

The Housing Department is excellent and they really give their best to find something that suits the students.

Brazil is simply an amazing country and have the chance to study in Rio de Janeiro is absolutely great. As a portuguese student I hadn't any difficulties to interact but the brazilian people are very welcome to anyone.

I had to pay for an appartment and Rio as much more nightlife.
Nightlife, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home.

PUC-Rio has the most amazing campus I have ever seen. It looks like a tropical forest. It is really really pretty.
