Best university in the Netherlands

Law, International, 2020
Overall
The University of Groningen felt like a home for the entire year and a half while I was a Law master student there. The staff was very helpful, always ready to hear me.

The university has great facilities, the building itself is very beautiful, giving an old castle vibe right from the middle of the city center of Groningen.

The teachers were very prepared in their fields, while also being very friendly and approachable. They organized moot court and projects with real lawyers as clients so that we will have an insight into the public international law work field.

Overall, studying Public International Law at RUG was the best choice for me!

Night spots: "Molly Malone's", "The Palace" etc. Don't miss the open air market taking place at the Martini square. Do visit the many interesting museums of this small town, and of course climb to the top of the dominating Martini tower in the centre of the town, which was destroyed during the 2nd World war and totally rebuilt afterwards. The panoramic city view will reward you indeed! Give yourself a bike ride to the splendid countryside lying outside Groningen and discover the great landscape. Do visit the Royal Botanical Garden, just a few km outside the town. And if all this sounds too quiet or boring, trust me, the town's nightlife, sport activities and overall entertainment options will convince you it is not so.

Food is quite expensive compared to Italy (especially for imported goods such as vegetables). Dutch trains are efficient but very expensive (if you open a Dutch bank account get the train discount card!)

Jumbo supermarket is cheaper and better than Albert Heijn. Get a second hand bike from someone rather than from a shop. Purchase a Lebara SIM.

Only perhaps dutch, in order to be able to get even more into the local culture, although, as I mentioned before, the local's command of english was high indeed.

An overall splendid, unforgettable experience, that became even more bautiful thanks to the kind local people. You will reach Groningen by train from Amsterdam, trip lasting around 3 hours.

In some of the above categories the cost is less in The Netherlands compared to Greece. Things such as supermarket and nightlife have lower prizes but the rents are much more expensive in The Netherlands. The reason that i spend more or less here depends on the differences that these categories have from the one country to the other.
