HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? The location is convenient and It's the best place to meet other exchange students and make friends.
Personal comments:
I lived in Ango and that's where all of the other exchange students lived. Party news travels thorugh the halls and everyone gets along. You'll never be lonely and you'll always know what's going on (in regards to student social life). It's small and cramped but I traveled and partied so much that I barely even noticed. Off campus appartments set up by ESC are more expensive and far. If you're only staying for a semester you might as well stay in Ango. It also doesn't hurt that the residence is just a 6 minute walk away from the shcool. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Activities: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
You'll have VIP access to Velvet, the local nihgtclub. It's not the classiest place in the world, but when you fill it up with 50 of your international friends, you're bound to have a great time! Okallagan's and Murphy's bar were also great hang out spots. Don't miss the parties put on by the Student board. Expect to party more than you ever have before at the start of the fall semester. You'll go non stop for the first month. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
The UPEM courses were alot easier that the courses I do at home. That's because the work load is so light. That was okay since I wanted to travel. I managed to see nine countries in the four months I spent in Rouen. I did like the fact that I got to study courses that focused on a european perspective. Most of the courses were offered in english. The one's offered in french are taught at a level for people who don't speak much french. If you want to improve your french take some courses in the regular program, but if you're on exchange for a vacation from your home school then take the UPEM courses.

EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Personal savings Other sources of funding:
scholarship from my university Work opportunities:
It was not legal for me to work Personal spending habits:
I wouldn't have paid rent at home. The exchange rate played a big factor on my epenses. I travelled more than I ever have before. you can get cheap flights to just about anywhere in Europe. It's hard to say no when someone asks you if you want to take a trip to Italy for 50 euros. Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Bring peanut butter and soup packets if you really want to save. On the first day of orientation the ESC sets up a table with leftover dishes and appliances for the last semester. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
Bring a flashlight if you're going to live in Ango. Power failures were common. Birng a good umbrella and a warm coat. It rains alot and it gets really cold at night. In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
It's a great way to take a vacation from your home university. If you want to travel and meet lots of great people come to Rouen. FINAL COMMENTS
Rouen has a perfect location for travel. It's 1 hour away from paris and you can get tons of cheap flights from there. Check www.ryanair.com for deals. Get a 12-25 card to save 50% on train travel thorughout France. I had an amazing time in Rouen. I can't belive it's actually over. I learned so much about myself and about the world during my exchange. Most of my learning happened outside of the class room. If you're looking for an eye opening experience then come to Rouen and get a little taste of what France has to offer. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
