HOUSING
by Valentina, Universita degli Studi di Trieste, Trieste, Italy
International Relations, Erasmus
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? It's the solution that allows you to be more independent.
Personal comments:
Students need to manage to find housing on their own, support from univerity is limited, and consists mainly in advice from senior students This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Take the regular french courses and avoid the courses for international students as much as possible. The calibre is much high in genuine sciences po courses.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
The key to success at Sciences Po is to find the right book... text books are not provided, so you will succeed based upon the fact of whether or not you can research well in libraries. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: French
Was learning French a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my French How much did you improve your French?
My level before: At ease in most situations My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
Although my french was pretty good before going to sciences-po, undoubtedly this year in Paris was decisive for my fluency in French. There is no better way to excel in language but to go in the actual country and live there for a year. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

OVERALL

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
Go but be prepared to suffer. It makes the fun bit more enjoyable. Or if you dont have to suffer, spend all of mummy and daddys hard earned cash and justify it by saying that you only live in Paris once as a student. In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
Bit small and far too elistist fro its own good. Believes its own propaganda. But you will have superb teachers and academic facilities. Am approaching things differently than the anglosaxon model and have actually been forced to learn stuff and not cram fot end of year exams. FINAL COMMENTS
Get a laptop, and ask loads of stupid but intelligent sounding question in class. In a room full of foreigners who have difficulty understanding what you are saying, you will be seen as intelligent and witty. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
