HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I loved our apt. it was really nice and newly re-done. Though the didnt provide alot that we needed. IE cleaning supplies and towels, etc. We ended up spendign alot of money on top of the ungodly cost of the apt.
Personal comments:
Some people I know had apts that were reallly far from everything, btu we lucked out and got one right by the center, walking distance from school and the bars. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Activities, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Nightlife: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
Plces I liked were Art Cafe if you have money, Goa is a great club, Grotta Pinta and Rock Castle to chill near Campo Di Fiori, and my favorite was hanging out in Old Trastevere, they have great little bars and its mostly Italians. Stay away from Campo bars unless you like being onyl with Americans. I hate the Drunken Ship and Black and White. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

ACADEMIC
My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
They are really relaxed here. Courses I took were really easy. I hated English and Italian, but the film courses I took were Great!!! I learned alot and didnt have to worry about studying and working too hard.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Just to warn you all, the administration is SOOOO unorganized and not so helpfull. Expect everything to be slow paced, and expect to figure everything out for yourself. Problems involved huge headaches trying to get the school to help. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Personal savings Other sources of funding:
Family Work opportunities:
It was not legal for me to work Personal spending habits:
Nightlife is expensive.. caomparable to other big cities, ie NYC or Chicago. Travel was really cheap, but I did alot more of it than when I was at home. I went to a different country almost every weekend. 14 countries in all. It was a great experience. As far as telephone, its easiest to buy a cellphone here. Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Food: was the same price as at home.

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
I wish that I brought less stuff. I was always an over packer but I discovered that I could do a 12 day trip through 4 countries with just a standard sized backpack. You hardly need to bring anything but the very basics... when it comes to traveling youll be glad. In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
Its unorganized and a big headache, but I met people from every other english speaking university in Rome and from what I hear, they are all pretty much the same. ie john cabbot university. I guess its just the slow paced italian life style where you feel like nothign ever gets done. FINAL COMMENTS
Have fun and keep an open mind. Get cheap tickets on Europebyair.com, ryanair.com, and virginexpress.com. Travel as much as possiable, every country is so different and has so much to offer.... eurorails can be good, but i found alot of times its cheaper to fly everywhere if you get the cheap tickets.
