Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: but I would select it on my own
Why? the location was bad, especially for the price I paid
Personal comments:
The apartment was very nice but it was not as close as I had hoped. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE

Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
Don't do what so many dummies do and go to the cliche American student hotspots. Find out where the Italians hang out and go there instead, so much classier than binge drinking in a piazza, and you'll have a truer experience of the local culture, not to mention will eat better! Avoid Italian men looking to pick up drunk Americans. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
If you can take courses that are more likely to have students who aren't study abroad. Most students try not to make friends with the Study Abroad kids because they leave 4 months later but I had no classes with them to meet any of them at all.
My opinion of the university assessment

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. Personal comments:
the univeristy is very disorganized in there office. there housing director is rude, and takes forever to contact you. maybe cause he knows he was wrong to place students in a crappy apartment for the price they pay. with that money i could of rented a nice apartment on my own near the spanish steps. and dont tell me no, cause my friends mother is a real estate agent, and she rents and sells homes. i trusted the university to take care of this for me, i chose the housing so i could be with other students and make friends. i wouldnt mind living with 4 or more students. i wanted to experience the college life, but i do not want to be taken advantage of when it comes to money. if you dont like your housing, speak up, dont let them fool you. dont be afraid to talk, and be takin advantage of. you should not have to be placed in a small cave apartment for all that money. Nightlife is expensive.. caomparable to other big cities, ie NYC or Chicago. Travel was really cheap, but I did alot more of it than when I was at home. I went to a different country almost every weekend. 14 countries in all. It was a great experience. As far as telephone, its easiest to buy a cellphone here. Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Food: was the same price as at home.
