bad exchange rate, plus USA and esp. NYC are very very expensive!!
Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Telephone: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
health insurance - although never needed, Diners Club Credit Card provides you with good health insurance without extra costs!! food on the street is less expensive (even McDonalds is more expensive!) - eg. HotDogs in Financial District $1 - Times Square $2 !! China Town: Food sold on the street (fried rice, fried noodles, egg rolls,..) for $ 1 !!
