Dublin is a great place for an all night pub crawl! Try Temple Bar in the beginning and then try to explore less touristic parts.

The people organising the course wanted us to live in a hostel... for three months. The said it was too difficult to get accomodation for all of us... But we all arranged it within a week!

As my course was a course with many different universities involved, and the location of the course changes every year (Oporto, Roskilde, Dublin etc) I cannot say much about other courses but I got the impression that it is mainly high quality.
