HOUSING
by moomoo, University of Birmingham, Birmingham, United Kingdom
Management Science, Erasmus
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I really enjoyed it.I wouldnīt live with a family as I am used to my independance. On campus the accomodation had strict rules regarding going out, bedtimes etc
Personal comments:
Didnīt enter into any of the residence buildings but sounded more like boarding school and only for students who live outside the city. No foreign students that I know of stayed there. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE

Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Activities: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Nightlife: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
There are many very nice clubs, cafes, theatres, tapas bars and so on in Madrid. Walk around and you will always find something new and exciting. Do not miss out on superclubs Pacha and Joy though. Buy the weekly Guía del Ocio for an update on what is happening in the city. Make sure to visit the many good museums. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Universidad Pontificia Comillas offers a wide range of courses. Many of these modules are not provided at other universities. These courses vary from Official Protocol in Foreign and Corporate Affairs to Global Business Negotiations. These modules will boost your personal abilities rather than enhance your academic knowledge. Courses involve a small number of students which helps to create a more personal relationship with the professor.

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: Spanish
Was learning Spanish a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Spanish How much did you improve your Spanish?
My level before: No problems in any areas (including slang) My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
Before arriving in Madrid my oral Spanish was fluent as I speak Spanish with my Argentine father. Moreover, my written level was not of the highest standards. The reason for this was I had gone to school for short intervals during my stay in Spanish speaking countries. The year I spent in Madrid helped me perfect my written Spanish. I discovered different accents and slangs which bolstered my lexical analysis and comprehension. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
Maybe having lived with Spanish people instead of English where I found myself speaking English alot. In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
Not very the university is private and more like a school with a blackboard and students being called up to do examples. good if you get friendly with the teachers and they donīt make you go up.Good location in the centre of town. Would rather have gone there than Alcalá outside. Also university is a small part of life out here!! FINAL COMMENTS
Gat yourself a native girl/boyfriend it improves your language skills alot and gets you a solid group os native mates to party with who know all the places to go and can take you travelling!!!!! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
