Why? I lived with other erasmus students and a spanish girl, I met a lot of people thanks to that and experienced th life with people from divers countries.
Personal comments:
This was a very good university, in my opinion. The subjects I had chosen gave me the opportunity to work a lot with spanish students and I had to do many presentations in every subjects, so I had to speak spanish in public.

Overall
Language of instruction: Spanish
Was learning Spanish a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Spanish
How much did you improve your Spanish?
My level before: At ease in most situations
My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)
Personal comments:
I was definitely more confident in speaking the language by the time I left the country than when I had first arrived. My regular meetings with certain Spanish students helped to gain this confidence.

Telephone: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Use the low budget airline websites www.rumbo.es and www.despegar.com for travel between Madrid and the larger cities along the coast like Valencia, Barcelona, Bilbao, and Malaga.

It needs to be slightly better organised bit other than that, it's lovely.

FINAL COMMENTS

Travel round Spain as much as you can while you are there as it is all part of the experience. Use coaches as they are very reliable and cheap.
