HOUSING
by Miek, Mercator Hogeschool, Gent, Belgium
Tourism, Erasmus
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? In Spain it is most common to live in an appartment. I was very satisfied with the whole accommodation. In that way you're also able to live in the centre of town.
Personal comments:
For me it was perfect. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

ACADEMIC

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Think twice before choosing Deusto if your not studying Law or Economics. I´m sorry to say so, but in the faculty of ´filosofia y letras´ many people were very disappointed with the courses offered. It was hard to find positive comments on that... Deusto is very different to other universities. At least, that´s what I founfd, in comparison to Amsterdam. There´s a lot of rules and regulations that are really hard to understand...
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
pff... If I start to write here... Just a little example.. The library; You can take max. 3 books. Keep them for 8 days and if you want to extend them... you bring them back and wait for a day.. then you go back and pichk em up for another 8 days... If your 1 day late, your penalty is you can´t take any books out for the next 8 days... And you don´t enter inside the library either.. you look up the book you want in a computer, send a message to teh secretary, and she gets the book out of the library... EXPENSES
by Janet, University of Manchester, Manchester, United Kingdom
Literature, Erasmus
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
An ERASMUS grant Other sources of funding:
Family Personal savings Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
I found that I was a lot richer in Spain than at home! Things were cheaper there but I ate the same amount of food so I spent less. The nightlife was fantastic so I was going out a lot more than at home, and I felt the urge to see different parts of Spain. At home I don't travel. The telephone was cheaper because I made less calls. Travel, Nightlife: was more expensive than at home. Overall, Housing: was the same price as at home. Food, Telephone: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Same as you would at home, try to have a budget. Use the bus to the airport instead of taxis, use the metro instead of taxis; buy a 10 trip metro ticket instead of 10 singles. Take taxis with friends - good anyway for safety. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
THE UNIVERSITY EXPERIENCE WAS NOT GOOD PARTLY BECAUSE THE METHOD OF TEACHING IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT TO THE HOST COUNTRY, LOTS OF THINGS TO SEE AND DO OUTSIDE BILBAO, NEAR THE MOUNTAINS AND SITUATED ON THE COAST SO LOTS OF ACTIVITIES TO ENGAGE IN In my opinion:
I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
THERE IS NOT REALLY ANYTHING ONE CAN DO TO CHANGE AT THIS UNIVERSITY FINAL COMMENTS
GOOD EXPERIENCE TO MEET NEW PEOPLE TRAVEL AND PARTY LOADS This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
