Description:
The University of Granada has suffered its ups and downs during its more than 450 years' existence but has always been the focal point of scholarship and learning in the city, to such an extent that Granada can be called a true university city, like Oxford and Salamanca for example, where the university and its colleges and annexes extend throughout the city and its influence is felt in all walks of life.

HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? because you can be more independent when you share a flat with other students and maybe is also the cheapest way to live in a country.
Personal comments:
My experience in Granada, a so beatuful and sunny city, was excellent. The University ambient and people in general are very friendly, so I didn't spend so much time to understand the University sistem. In the nine months I spent there I had five exams in two faculies: "Faculty of Literature", and "Interpreters and translators". I am very happy to have decided to ask for the erasmus program, because it's the greatest experience i've had until now. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: Spanish
Was learning Spanish a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Spanish How much did you improve your Spanish?
My level before: At ease in most situations My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
the first and also teh send months were the most difficult of the erasmus because i always had to ask people to speak more slowly and i felt to be a stranger and out of most conversations. Smonetimes I also disn't have the words to express my own opinion and my needs, so this was wery frustrating. But living with a spanish girl, going to university, and to the language course for erasmus students I improved very quikly and evry problem disappearedand now I speak a very fluent spanish. OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
I wish I had more information about the Univerity in general and the couses I could do. I didn't know anithing when I arrived in granada, because my University didn't tell me about it. I discovered there that there werw two semesters, courses of six and nine cfu, not exactly as in Italy, anf things like that. there'a a lot of burocracy before and after the erasmus. In my opinion:
I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
It's not a very big Univerity, but for this reason is well organized and at the same time the Uni. and in the city there are great cultural events. The same course is done once in the morning and once in the evening. FINAL COMMENTS
I suggest erasmus incoming in Granada to go the associaton of Erasmus student, because they always organize great parties, and the cheapest travels, to go to Cadiz, Sevilla and more... This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
