HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: academic hotel
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? For increased flexibility and independence.
Personal comments:
My experiences do not reflect the general housing policy of the university because these strict requirements only apply to American students. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Activities: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
Havana is an incredible city! Don't miss Casa de la Musica for dancing or Las Mercedes for a great meal. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

ACADEMIC
My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Because the Cuban students do not have many choices for their specific courses, class schedules change frequently. It's helpful to take as many classes as possibly with the same group of students.
My opinion of the university assessment

Increased course choices would be an improvement. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Family Other sources of funding:
Personal savings Work opportunities:
It was not legal for me to work Personal spending habits:
With residence and student identity cards, I was able to take advantage of both the peso and dollar economic systems. This allowed me to be extremely economical in my expenses. Nightlife: was the same price as at home. Food, Travel, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Daily expenses get much cheaper as you discover what can be paid for in pesos and what requires dollars. Get advice on these items before you go so you won't be taken advantage of. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Personal recommendation:
Being at the University of Havana was wonderful but challenging. Be sure you know what you are getting into and are committed to facing that challenge. FINAL COMMENTS
