HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? More quiet than residences. Dormitories aren't as close to the city center.

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Nightlife: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Activities, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
A really nice place with jazz, sofas and the best gin-tonics is the CHASTON. I used to work there, if you go there, say hi to the coolest boss ever and his wife: Paco & Ana! It is not the regular students bar but a nice place with many locals! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

ACADEMIC
My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
the exams are harder that you migth think, many exchange students failed. Hardly anybody can pass more than 4-5 exams. Use the advantage of courses with group-work. It helps to get in touch with local students and improving your exam grades.

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: Spanish
Was learning Spanish a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Spanish How much did you improve your Spanish?
My level before: Did not speak it My level after: At ease in most situations Personal comments:
Since I hardly knew a word, I learned a lot. The working on projects with spanish students as well as waitressing in the jazzbar & giving english lessons helped me a lot to improve and practice spanish. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Government assistance Other sources of funding:
An ERASMUS grant Working in Zaragoza Work opportunities:
I worked during my study abroad experience Personal spending habits:
Using your mobile phone without a contract (I only had a prepaid card) is very expensive! Travelling with buses is the cheapest I have ever seen (11Euros to Barcelona). And housing was only cheaper because I am living alone in Germany. Telephone: was more expensive than at home. Food, Nightlife, Overall: was the same price as at home. Travel, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
I had to pay much more additional charges for electricity, water, gas, etc. than I was told. You should have a written confirmation of what you need to pay for living including ANY additional charges! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Hardly anybody speaks english, which makes the first weeks hard but helps to learn spanish quickly. It can be really exhausting to find any job. 6 Euros/hour are already good! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
