Personal comments:
Cafe Matarrana at the top of Gran Via has the best bocodillos you will ever taste. As for nightlife you can find hundreds of bars in the Casco Viejo open until the early hours of the morning.

Computer facilities at the university are pretty non-existant. Unless you want to spend a fortune at internet cafes (like I did) its a good idea to have a lap top.

Personal comments:
When I first arrived I struggled with things like opening bank accounts,university administration etc. However, by the end of my stay there I was able to communicate well in Spanish and felt at ease with the language.

Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Spain was very cheap compared to Edinburgh. I was able to eat out often and go out every weekend. It was also very cheap to travel around Spain.
