I can only recommend to go to Las Palmas, the people are very friendly, it's easy to get in contact and learn the language. Read Review

My academic experiences
Quality of courses
KEY:
Fantastic.
Pretty good.
Could've been a bit better.
Disappointing.
Variety of courses
Availability/access to resources
Interaction with teachers
Interaction with other international students
Interaction with local students
Course recommendations:
Courses in translation/interpreting very good, especially those run by Susan Cranfield/Richard Clouet. But if you study German, avoid courses run by Christina Giersiepen- she is rude, disorganised and her courses are poor quality. It was also quite difficult to sort out a timetable, as there were lots of clashes.

Personal comments:
Although I enjoyed the courses, I found the system to be disorganised and difficult ie some of my coursework/exams were lost and some students were given a "no presentado" when they had in fact taken the exam. Make sure you understand the assessment procedures in advance and get the "informe academicos" signed well in advance.

As well as the mdules you are obliged to do to get enough credits, try a module that is completely unrelated to your course that interests you. I did pschology and it has opened a new chapter in my life. It also helped me immensely in learning Spanish (terminology proved similar to English)

Personal comments:
It would have been nice ot have had a counsellor to apporach to offer some advice in my choice of courses. I picked my courses that seemed to relate to my degree at home and that gave me a sufficient number of credits. Some classes I tried (like classical mythology 3rd year) to find it was way over my head. However I did enjoy the freedom of choosing a course and trying it out. I think I would have settled more quickly had I had some advice.
