Leave your wallet and credit card at home when you go out at night and just take 10-20€. Many people got robbed (with knives) and some had to take money from the ATM. Read Review

If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Personal comments:
The Erasmus office helps people to find housing but what they offer is usually not acceptable.

Travel
Overall
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Activities: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment
Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment
Nightlife: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
Nightlife in Lisbon is just amazing. All kinds of night spots, indoor and outdoor, many areas full of places and I guess by far the lowest prices in Western Europe.

ACADEMIC
My academic experiences
Quality of courses
KEY:
Fantastic.
Pretty good.
Could've been a bit better.
Disappointing.
Variety of courses
Availability/access to resources
Interaction with teachers
Interaction with other international students
Interaction with local students
Course recommendations:
Remember ground school? When the teacher was writing everything on the blackboard an you had to copy? If you want to have a revival take 'Seminar in European Economics'! The other courses were more or less okay.

Didn't like it.
Exams throughout the course

Portuguese is awfully hard to learn, especially if you are not from a latin country. Some of us haven't learned more than a few words. But actually it doesn't matter. Everybody speaks English very well.

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
Academic reasons
KEY:
Very Important.
Important.
Not really important.
Unimportant.
Culture
Costs
Activities
Campus life
Party / people
Weather / Location
I wish I had known...
I should have tried to get an appartment before arriving. Internet access in the house would have also been a good idea as the facilities at uni were a joke.
In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!

During my experience abroad, I ...
Became familiar with another culture
KEY:
Happened all the time.
Happened quite a lot.
Happened a bit.
Didn't happen.
Traveled
Improved language skills
Met people from other countries
Became more independent
Partied a lot
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies/career
Personal recommendation:
If you want to learn a lot go somewhere else. If you want to have fun go to Lisbon.
