Was learning Portuguese a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Portuguese
How much did you improve your Portuguese?
My level before: Did not speak it
My level after: At ease in most situations
Personal comments:
When I arrived I couldn't say a word.I had thought it was going to be easier being spanish, but I found that not only I wasn't able to say anything, but I couldn't even understand. This was the first month, then I started to understand easily and finally learnt to pronounce more or less as they do. I think, knowing other languages helped me a lot, especially french, because it sounds similar.

How much did you improve your Portuguese?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.)
My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)
Personal comments:
I chose Portugal because I graduated in éOPrtuguese language and Literature in my home Uni. The best way to learn a language is no doubt moving to the place where it's spoken

Personal comments:
At the beginning it was very difficult for me to understand clearly because the portuguese pronunciation has sounds very closed or nasal. After 3 months I spoke and understand all perfectly.
