Things are much cheaper there, at least when you adapt to local foodhabits for instance. Cooking Western food and buying the ingredients would have cost me a lot. Travelling was surprisingly cheap taken into account distances and so! Prices for drinks in bars were even more expensive than Europe.

Go out for food, don't cook yourself at least if you like the local cuisine! When booking a trip make sure you check prises at different travel agency's, some are not sincere.

Since I wanted to see a lot in China, I travelled a lot, while at home I would never travel during my studies to far away places. But once you are in Asia you have to use the opportunities of getting really to know the country and the culture etc...

Yes, I faced problems with my bank card from home (which only works on some dispensers), and also sometimes with my creditcard. but in general you can use masterard or visa at every dispenser in Macau. I would say it is not worth to get a bank account there.
