My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
I was in a relatively structured program for language learners so my slelction was limited. If I were to do it again I would have taken more french courses so I could have taken courses with french students at the university. On that same note though I viewed studying abroad as more of a cultural life experience so wasn't as interested in the academic side as much as immersing and enjoying life.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
The system is a bit different from the anglo system on several differnt levels. Grading, teacher student interaction, and general course structure. I for one enjoyed the academic structure. Teachers are more critical and openly corrective of students, there is generally less work, and in my case less tests than at my home university. Suggestions.. I really dont have any. Coming from an American university, I took the resources available to me for granted. Computing facilities in Aix do not even compare to those at my home university, but you just learn to make do with what´s available.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Some of the professors do not make themselves readily accessible outside of the classroom, that makes it difficult to have your questions answered. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Course recommendations:
In France, if you go to University with a Business major as opposed to a Business School, you are missing out on a lot of the more practical aspects of the learning experience. there is very little group work, the teachers are very academic and the classes not very interactive. If I had to redo this school experience, I would have studied languages, or arts.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
They should improve their curriculum and make their classes more dynamic and less based on pure theory. As well, a lot of the teachers have a very snobby attitude, but I think that teaching in Europe is generally very different from North America. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Courses are very interesting, that's one thing you can't deny from this university. Although not much interaction with the teachers.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
It's the french system, so you'll pretty much find the same academic method in every universities throughout france. I don't think they're ever going to change it. Although I'd appreciate more student involvment. They are not trying to makes us participate or anything. But that's because we're so much in class too (about 700 in my class) This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Certain modules are a lot harder due to the differences in the French and British systems, stay away from politics and any law based ones!
