Type of housing: A room exchange
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: A room exchange
Why? Because you have the chance of sharing experiences, habits and cultural backgrpunds with other people. It“s easier to find. Not so expensive.
Personal comments:
I know Bocconi housing goes from normal to luxury. It can be very expensive for the services offered. The good point is proximity with university.

Travel
Overall
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment
Activities, Nightlife: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
To go out in the night, Karma, Old Fashion Cafe, Bar Bianco, Shocking. For "aperitivo": Nabu (Aramani's Cafe), TRattoria Toscana. The ice cream and crepes places in the Navigli and Corso di Porta Ticincese are places not be missed!

Overall
Language of instruction: Italian
Was learning Italian a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Italian
How much did you improve your Italian?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.)
My level after: At ease in most situations
Personal comments:
My language abilities improved greatly during the year; this was mostly due to the fact that I lived with italians who helped me greatly. The university also offered a very good language instruction course.

Money from home
Main source of funding:
Government assistance
Other sources of funding:
Family
Personal savings
An ERASMUS grant
Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options
Personal spending habits:
Everything in Milna is very expensive, and when you are on exchange you tend to do more activities than when at home, so you will end up spending quite a bit of money. Also on top of the above mentioned expensies, Milan is amazing for shopping...
Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
none
