HOUSING

Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? It enables you to live with other students of your age and gives you some independence
Personal comments:
There was no accomadation provided by the university, we were provided with a list with some addresses and numbers which we had to contact ourselves but there was quite a good selection and the landlords/ladies were reputable and helpful This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
There are too many wonderful retaurants in Italy to list! I love the arts, so I love to see opera at La Scala, and Torre di Lago Puccini in the summer. Jazz for most of the summer at Siena Jazz. Orchestral music and opera at Spoletto. Art...EVERYWHERE! I love Italy! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: Italian
Was learning Italian a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Italian How much did you improve your Italian?
My level before: Basic phrases My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
Italians are really helpful when you try to learn their language, they are polite, kind and nice about correcting you and they appreciate any effort done. Do not mingle only with foreigners or you will miss an incredible opportunity to learn. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
As long as you are open to learning and discovering new things then there is not much you need find out before going. In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
Whilst Pisa itself is relatively small the unversity has something like 40, 000 students which is an ideal combination because the city is small enough to find your way around in but there are enough people to meet of your own age FINAL COMMENTS
Pisa is a very good base for visiting the rest of Italy. Trains are cheap - especially if you buy a student discount card - so take advantage of it. On a more practical side, be prepared to wait for hours to join a bank, visit the doctor or speak to a lecturer in the first weeks.
