Though housing is seldom provided by this university, what they offered me was in pretty good shape and otherwise I couldn't have met "deeply" german people!

Personal comments:
Some people ignore student parties, while others ignore bars and clubs. For University residences, I recommend Hadiko; as for bars, Café Wien and Ludwigsplatz; clubs... Carambolage and Krokokeller

My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.)
My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)
Personal comments:
Quite hard at the beginning to understand them because of the dialect they spoke. German used at the university was more "academic" so to speak, so as long as you know technical vocabulary should be no problem

FINAL COMMENTS

It is a good help to have someone who guides you one week before starting the courses. I did not, and faced several difficulties due to ignorance and cultural differences.
