Personal assessment

KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.

Location
Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? Living close to the campus is easier in Trier because the campus is not in the city. Moreover it's the best way to meet all foreign students.
Personal comments:
Accomodations are great. You can choose to live on your own or to share your flat with someone. You can even be with someone of you own university if you insist a bit.

Language of instruction: German
Was learning German a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.
How much did you improve your German?
My level before: Basic phrases
My level after: At ease in most situations
Personal comments:
I studied for 2 years at the university level here in the USA and felt pretty comfortable with my progress in German...until I got to Germany when I realized that they spoke a language far more complex than I had expected. It would have paid to have had speaking experience with a native speaker in the USA before having gone to Germany.

FINAL COMMENTS

Most Germans appear indifferent to foreigners, but they are actually not! Many Germans are warm-hearted indeed, and pure! So, go ahead, make friends with them.
