Why? Independence, furthermore area was much better, however you paid the price for private accomodation.

In France, we eat better and more than in Holland, my rent is more expensive in France, when I lived in Holland I went often to France
Food, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Nightlife, Overall, Telephone: was the same price as at home.
Travel: was less expensive than at home.

When you want to rent an apartment, make sure you have already contacted a bank and that you have your cheques and RIBs
