HOUSING
by Sara, Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, Groningen, Netherlands
Literature, Erasmus
Personal assessment
Type of housing: C.R.O.U.S.
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? more quiet and no bugs/ cog roaches
Personal comments:
lots of international students and French speaking Africans, very mixed cultural backgrounds. Rooms were small (9 square meters) and had no kitchen (no fridge) or toilet. Toilets and showers were shared and well maintained, relatively clean. Supermarket on 5 min. walk. University not far away either (10 min. bike). Subway station very nearby. Some rooms (including mine) had nasty cog roaches. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Living in halls can feel slightly confined.
Personal comments:
Accommodation was well organised. I was given plenty of advice about insurance etc. I was glad however that I was not in halls, as they appeared to be of a poor standard. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

HOUSING
by Tagataga, Università degli Studi di Siena, Siena, Italy
Public Relations/Publicity/Advertising, Erasmus
Personal assessment
Type of housing: With a family
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Privacy, comfort, personal selection of location
Personal comments:
I really apreciated the fact that the university provided to find location for entering students, but I would apreciated more sincerity on informing about the place. I was located in Roubaix, a suburb of Lille, well known for its level of violence. If I would have a car, eerything would have been much easyer.. and safer!!! During the second semester I moved to an apartment in the center of Lille.. More expensive, but much better!!! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
