Mais, vous y entrez pour le nouveau siècle, le vingt-et-unième. Space
Type of housing: Room for au-pair work
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: part-time au-pair
Why? It is the cheapest solution and quite often the room is in the city centre.
Personal comments:
I went to Paris in independently and so was looking for accomodation on my own as well. For post-graduate students the "Cité International" might be interesting.

Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment
Personal comments:
Bars in the Bastille, good for English students. Good cafes on boulevard du Montparnasse and in St Michel. Buy a good Paris guide so as not to miss the not so well known sights.

Yes, I wanted to improve my French
How much did you improve your French?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.)
My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)
Personal comments:
I studied foreign manguages so that was the main interest of my time in Paris. Arriving in France without appropriate knowledge of French ist pretty difficult as French people are not at ease speaking English.
