HOUSING

Personal assessment
Type of housing: Irish College
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? The Irish College doesn't give you enough freedom, and you won't integrate as well.
Personal comments:
DON'T live on campus. It's cheap, but out of town and not very safe. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE

Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Activities: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Personal comments:
There're many activities organised in Paris, like "La fête de la musique": walking along Paris and listening all kind of music. Drinking wine in Champs du Mars, next to the Eiffel Tower, or on the top of Montmartre. I loved bouquinistes, and their books. Just walking along the city is marvellous. The atmosphere of this city is like a miracle. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Be careful:be sure the teacher is aware of the additional problems erasmus students have and that he will not consider you as a local student!

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: French
Was learning French a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my French How much did you improve your French?
My level before: At ease in most situations My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
I completely immersed myself in the french language and hung around mainly with French people. The fact that i worked in a local bar all year round perfected my command of slang and informal discourse. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES

The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Personal savings Other sources of funding:
Family An ERASMUS grant Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
Accommodation in Paris is very expensive, but food and drink in the supermarkets is much cheaper than in Ireland. Nightclubs and drinking in bars also costs more. Nightlife, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Overall, Telephone: was the same price as at home. Food, Travel: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Gibert Jeune on Place St Michel sells and buys second hand books, don't automatically buy everything new. BNP Paribas are a good bank, they give you an overdraft, Carte Bleu and no bank charges. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
Life is never easy. In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
not to go. i think that an international study experience is one of the best things anyone can do in their student life, but this University does not meet the minimum requierements in social or acadameic life, so I would tell people to go to a different parisian or french University. FINAL COMMENTS
If you realy want to know how France is, travel all around this marvellous country. paris is not representative of the whole France, so travel as much as you can. You'll never forget that. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
