We were inegrated into the CIREFE program, which offers French courses to foreign students. If your level was advanced you could take regular university classes, but that was not made very clear.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
It's different, but get used to it. It is better to be pass/fail, I think, than having grades transfer, since there is no allowance for cultural adjustment This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Watch out for the European Sociology and government class, only about 15% of the students in my class passed it, all of whome were from Europe.

It may be difficult or impossible but integrating the foriegn and the int'l students a little more. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Teachers were not very availiable. ERASMUS students were on the whole pushed to one side. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

If placed high enough students should really try to take a course with the French students.

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
We were studying English Literature from a French view point. Clearly the French students couldn't pick everything up as quickly as we could because it wasn't their native language. Therefore some subjects were a bit basic, but nevertheless the scope of subjects was exceptional.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Not really - it is up to the individual to make the effort. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Course recommendations:
Things may have changed since I was there, but I had a lot of difficulty figuring out such simple things as how to register for a class. Things were very chaotic compared with classes in the United States. Just don't panic--ask other students for advice, and everything will probably work out fine.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
I do feel that basing a grade solely on one exam at the end of a semester is not the ideal way of evaluating a student's performance. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Only to try to prepare particularly American students a bit more, probably more the responsibility of the home institution. It's just a very different system and very taxing. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
