Why? I absolutely loved my family, but I would try an apartment if I went again since I now know the city and have friends there.

Course recommendations:
We were inegrated into the CIREFE program, which offers French courses to foreign students. If your level was advanced you could take regular university classes, but that was not made very clear.

It's different, but get used to it. It is better to be pass/fail, I think, than having grades transfer, since there is no allowance for cultural adjustment

Personal comments:
Living with a family definitely helps. I spoke more English than I probably should have (just because Rennes is a rather forgotten city in terms of study abroad doesn't mean that you're the only English speaker there).

I spent way more on travel than I needed to because of some problems I had with visas.

I wish I had known a bit more about Bretagne as a region. It's not really your typical image of France, but it's wonderful!
