Going to Berlin is really expensive. There are so many beautifull cities in Germany such as Magdeburg, Göttingen and many more. VISIT THEM TOO Read Review

Personal assessment

KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.

Location
Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I had a single room and that suited me very well. I could meet some people if I wanted, and I had also the quitness when I wanted to study.
Personal comments:
The housing is arranged by a firm named, Studentenwerk. This is a very good firm, but mostly unriendly. As a foreign student you will get priority.

Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Activities: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment
Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment
Nightlife: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
He Wilhelmshöhe area is lovely, so are many of the sourrouding suburbs and villages. Don´t be put off by the inner city. Make use of the Semester ticket (unlimited travel within North Hesse for a once-off price). The museams and theatres are quite good.

Happened quite a lot.
Happened a bit.
Didn't happen.

Personal recommendation:
While living on campus is cheap and handy, you won´t really get much of a chance to experience wha life is really like in Kassel.

FINAL COMMENTS

The town doesn´t make a great first impression, but make an effort to get to know it properly. I gave up too soon! The uiversity is really great, very modern, well laid-out, right in the city-centre. The staff here are are a bit more involved with their students than in other German universities.
