Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? It was right near the university for easy access to classes, and all of my friends lived there, so my social life revolved around where I lived. Also, I had contact with Germans through living with them.
Personal comments:
It wasn't exactly a beautiful room nor did it have modern facilities, but after I got over that, I realized that it was the best place to live due to the social life and contact with Germans. The international environment is also a plus. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Personal comments:
I"ve you want to go out, go to Chez Fuchs. I"ve you want to hang out in de citycentre, then i recommand Brauhaus, Die Cocktailbar and Shamrock if it"s winter. In the summer I would recommand Biergarten at Hafenhalle. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: German
Was learning German a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my German How much did you improve your German?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.) My level after: At ease in most situations Personal comments:
I studied German for two years before I studied there. I did not feel at ease in any situation when I arrived. I participated in a month-long language course throughout September that is offered at the University of Konstanz. After this course, I felt confident and really felt integrated into the society a lot more than when I had just arrived. Overall, my language and communication was a huge learning experience. I gained much knowledge about the outside world, as well as another language. It created many new views into my own culture and society as well. Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
It is a great place to study! The small international atmosphere is a really nice environment. I had the best year of my life! FINAL COMMENTS
A really nice place to spend a year. The weather can be a bit depressing, but towards the summer, it becomes really nice and the lake is wonderful to have nearby. I made amazing friends and had a BLAST. Would recomend the experiance to anyone...oh yeah, don't miss Ali Baba's Doener kebaps on Bodan Platz!!! They're the best in town!
