university is fine, teachers are good, but the school hasnt got alot of money, so the facilities, almost no computers, no airconditioning, anyway, not much for a school of architecture, and the spanish(catalan)students have to do quite alot at the same time, so if youre going to study here, and you dont speak the language yet, then dont choose to much at the same time... My favorite spots were the place where there were a lot of people. That about in any at any time in Barcelona. I very much liked my own neighbourhood "Gracia" which had a lot of small bars, restaurant and squares(plazas) with terrases. And I very much liked the neighbourhood around the Rambla, where there were always a lot of people. Best place: La Oveja Negra, just next to the Rambla. Everyone knows it, but it's so incredibilby easy to make new contacts over there. That's what I loved about it. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Be aware that most classes (90%) are in Catalan, not in Castellano (Spanish). You can ask the professor to switch, but quite a few refuse, and even if they accept, chances are good that books, lab guides, and exam sheets will still be in Catalan. Good courses are Optimització i Simulació, Termodinàmica, Metrología y Verificación, and Grafs i Decisió. Do not bother to go to Tecnología de Materiales, or Teoria de Màquines.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:

I understand just about any word, sentence or slang that the spanish can think of. In my spoken spanish I don't use that much slang because it's easier to talk without it. You simply speak faster when you don't need to think of some saying or slang every time you say a sentence. The only reason that I learned the language so well in such a short period is that I studied there and was in a class full of spanish(/catalan) people. Most of my friends were spanish(or spanish speaking) as well and all my other friends were there since september and already spoke the language quite well when I arrived. I didn't want/need to work Personal spending habits:
I spent more on accomodation, because the room I got was a bad deal, but I didn't know any better when I got it, and speaking very basic Spanish only didn't exactly help either. I spent more on Nightlife and Travel, because I went out more (Barcelona does that to you) and did more travelling (you would obviously want to see more of the country you're staying in if you're there for a year). Travelling within Barcelona (public transport) is fairly cheap though. Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Food, Telephone: was the same price as at home.

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
For the rentings of particular things is quite difficult because its plenty of people who want to rent the same things and you have to wait a lot of time before to have a free place. In my opinion:
