HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: I shared it with a catalan guy
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? A lot of privacy. Living with a spanish person also introduces you to the spanish way of living..
Personal comments:
Luckily I knew a spanish family were I could live for the first weeks, but it is not that hard to find something This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Personal comments:
Cafe de les artes (C. Valencia?), around Plaza del Sol (Cafe del Sol), bars and plaza's in the area Gracia. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

ACADEMIC
My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Choose free electives: small classes and more interaction with students and teacher.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
interaction...teacher tells in 2 hours what he knows to a very big group of students, students are supposed to listen...I think classes would be more efficient if there would be some interaction between students and teacher. a good thing, Free electives: there is already interaction between teacher and students. Language difficulties
Language of instruction: Spanish
Was learning Spanish a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Spanish How much did you improve your Spanish?
My level before: Basic phrases My level after: At ease in most situations Personal comments:
I did not know that Barcelona besides castillano has catalan as their official language. It is not a dialect...but used in every day life. So, I did not know about the catalan/spanish question. Therefore for me it was also a bit harder to learn Spanish. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Government assistance Other sources of funding:
An ERASMUS grant Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Travel, Telephone: was the same price as at home. Food, Nightlife: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
buy your food at lidl or dia, restaurants are (better) and cheaper in the not so very touristic parts of town. Go eating around 13:30 at these little restaurants, then a meal (3 plate dishes + 1 drink) costs only 7 to 8 euro. On some days entry to musea is free.
