Universitat de Vic - Fundaciò Universitària Balmes

Sagrada Familia 7, 08500 Vic, Spain
4.29 / 5 based on 48 reviews.
Description:
The University of Vic is of a different kind. It is a new model of a private university as far as its method of management and administration is concerned. However, it also maintains a clear vocation towards public service and a responsibility to its surroundings. A university with the optimum dimension for educational efficiency. A university with an international vision. A practical university with the objective for professional input.

Overall
Language of instruction: Spanish
Was learning Spanish a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Spanish
How much did you improve your Spanish?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.)
My level after: At ease in most situations
Personal comments:
Though we had a really international group we always spoke in Spanish only when it really got hard we did it in french, german or english. Due to constantly speaking in Spanish I improved, however my French got worse.

OVERALL
by Karin, FH-Studiengänge Wiener Wirtschaft Gmbh, Vienna, Austria

Important to choosing this university...
Academic reasons
KEY:
Very Important.
Important.
Not really important.
Unimportant.
Culture
Costs
Activities
Campus life
Party / people
Weather / Location
I wish I had known...
That the main language in Vic is Catalan and not Spanish (and in whole Catalunya) and that Vic is not as close to Barcelona as I expected it to be.
In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!

During my experience abroad, I ...
Became familiar with another culture
KEY:
Happened all the time.
Happened quite a lot.
Happened a bit.
Didn't happen.
Traveled
Improved language skills
Met people from other countries
Became more independent
Partied a lot
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies/career
Personal recommendation:
Don't expect a very high level of studies, but as all the subjects are in Spanish or even Catalan, the level of studies is okay.

FINAL COMMENTS

Andalucía and of course Barcelona city
