HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Dorm on satellite campus of UCD
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: On UCD MAIN campus
Why? I lived in the Blackrock Campus of UCD, but took classes on UCD main campus. It would have been easier/more of a "college" experience if I had lived on the campus where I attended class.
Personal comments:
The UCD Blackrock campus, (West and East Hall residences), are old but charming. The residences were once home to nuns(!) but have since been converted. All rooms are singles and have a sink, while bathrooms and kitchens are communal. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

ACADEMIC
My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Study Abroad students are assigned advisors at the host university who can help them get acclimated. Take advantage of meeting with these advisors, they are valuable resources whom are there to help you!!
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
I was unaccustomed to the conventional means of assessment. For 3 of my classes, the final exam counted for 100% of the grade - this was foreign to me, and I found myself needing to adapt to the new academic norms. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. Personal comments:
I was able to transition easily into life in Dublin because there was no language barrier for me to overcome. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Personal savings Work opportunities:
I worked during my study abroad experience Personal spending habits:
Dublin is a fantastic city, but it is certainly expensive. I travelled more in (and out of) Dublin than I would at home, so naturally I spent more. Overall, everything was more expensive except perhaps food prices at grocery stores. Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Food, Telephone: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
I opened a bank account in Dublin, which made saving and spending easier. The cost of ATM withdrawals with my American debit card necessitated taking out large sums of money at a time. I would then deposit this money into my irish account. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
If I could have anticipated how much money I would spend over my 8 months, I would have tried to save even more before going over. In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
UCD is excellent. It is a large, and has a multitude of foreign students as well as Irish. There are extensive subjects available to students, as well as more time to study before finals. I would advise students to live on UCD's main campus to feel more like a student in college rather than to just be a foreigner in a city. FINAL COMMENTS
Going abroad was the best decision I have ever made. If you would like to travel abroad while studying in Dublin, lookup flights from RyanAir. I found they were the cheapest for short flights around Europe. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
