HOUSING
Personal assessment

KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.
Facilities

Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? for the contact with other international students
Personal comments:
University accommodations are of good quality but pretty expensive. Private accommodations are much cheaper but can be of very bad quality. If you look for contact with english students, it's better to share a private house than living in unveristy accomodations, which are reserved to international students.

Overall
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Activities, Travel: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment
Nightlife: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
The best cafes are at the canals (Brindley's place) in the city center. The best cinemas to me are MAC and Electric cinema, if you like independent movies.

I wish I had known...
The university campus is really nice, but Birmingham is a quite boring and ugly industrial city. You need to like living in a very big and grey city!
In my opinion:
I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would.

During my experience abroad, I ...
Became familiar with another culture
KEY:
Happened all the time.
Happened quite a lot.
Happened a bit.
Didn't happen.
Traveled
Improved language skills
Met people from other countries
Became more independent
Partied a lot
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies/career
Personal recommendation:
My academic experience there was great and the studies level is quite high. The campus is big and green, and you can find a lot of social opportunities there.
