HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I was extremely satisfied by the estates in Gainesville. There are many complexes and almost all of them offer very good amenities at fair prices.
Personal comments:
On-campus housing at University of Florida is difficult to get for exchange students. However off-campus housing is very good and cheap. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Personal comments:
UF just has amazing facilities for every kind of sport. Gainesville is really a "college town" as everything or almost gravitates around campus and University activities. The night life is really good either downtown or midtown. Going at least once at Grog's House on Wednesday night for ladies' night is a must-do in Gainesville. ACADEMIC
My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Courses at graduate level at the college of engineering are pretty good. Professors are well prepared and interact a lot with students. However sometimes lectures are a bit too slow.

Living in Gainesville in terms of housing, food, nightlife and other related expenses is extremely cheap compared to Europe. The good exchange rate between euros and dollars also helped a lot. OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
Probably I would have liked to get to know more local people. As I met many of them but at the same time many other weren't that interested in getting to know foreigners. In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
It is a great University! The campus life is just amazing and the academics are ok. Gainesville is a small but nice and very vibrant city. FINAL COMMENTS
My experience at UF was extremely fulfilling. I improved my English skills, I travelled around Florida and some other parts of the US (even though getting a cheap flight from Gainesville is quite difficult and you might have to go to Jacksonville or Orlando to get the best deals). The courses were very interesting and exciting.
