University of Helsinki
Helsingin Yliopisto, Yliopistonkatu 4 - P.O. Box 33, 00014 Helsinki, Finland
Description:
The University of Helsinki (Helsingin yliopisto) is the oldest and largest university in Finland. It was founded in 1640 as the "Academy of Turku"; Turku being the former capital of Finland, which was then part of the Swedish realm. After Finland was annexed to the Russian Empire in 1809, the capital was moved to Helsinki. In 1827 the University was transferred to Helsinki, where it opened the following year under the name of the Imperial Alexander University, after the Russian Czar Alexander the Second. It was the only university in Finland until 1919.

Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I was living in a student house in the center of Helsinki called Domus and I shared a flat with another exchange student. It was near from the university, you could walk for going anywhere.
Personal comments:
I was really surprised to get such a nice flat in such a good location. There was a well furnished kitchen and in each room already the main furnitures. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Personal recommendation:
You do good!!! Motivate the people to learn more Finnish - to know this language is more than nothing the key to Finnish social life. FINAL COMMENTS
Travel tips: You have good access to all countries around the Baltic sea; especially try to visit the Baltic states, and (I regret it was not possible for me) Russia. Also the north of Finland, Lappi, is really beautiful, especially in autumn. And don't miss to rent a cottage ("mökki") with your friends in the lake area, with sauna, swimming, incredible nature. It's the best! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
