Description:
The University of Kent was granted its Royal Charter in 1965 and the first students arrived in the October of that year. The single-site campus covers 300 acres and is just over a mile from Canterbury's city centre. In 1997 the University opened a new centre, the Bridge Wardens' College, in Chatham's Historic Dockyard. This is an addition to the University Centre at Tonbridge, which caters for continuing education and part-time students.
